10 Final Letters

10 individual letterforms.  Each began as the same 'e' and were re-worked, exploded/blown up to illustrate the word 'expand.'  To make the 10x10 cm squares portray this word I;

• put more than one letter 'e' in some of the squares to multiply the effect,
• ignored counters and just kept them filled in/ didn't cut them out, this works well as it makes the letterform take up more empty space and makes it imposing.
• played around with the scale of the letter so that it was larger and sometimes let it go beyond the canvas size,
• carried the 'finial' or the tail of the e and made it larger than it should have been.
