'How to deal with the walk to college'

At the beginning of a week long brief, my group and I received the question 'How to deal with the walk to college.'  Initially we brainstormed idea's, from the beginning we decided to keep our project light-hearted and playful as it isn't really a serious topic.  We played around with a few idea's at first, one being that we could create a board game.  The students would have to tackle obstacles along there way in order to get to college on time.  Instead we chose a more informative idea, we decided to create a map.  Still keeping it playful we brainstormed a few obstacles that you would come across when walking to the college.  Here is our early development of the map:

As you can see we have used hand drawn illustrations that we created ourselves as a group... It was important to us that we all had an input in the map so each of us did a few illustrations each.  As we started to add more and more obstacles, the map began to look cluttered and you just didn't know where to look because the page was so busy, so we decided to tone it down and we chose a few simple colours that we thought worked well together.  Below is our final outcome of the map (which actually folds into an envelope with front cover).
