Mailing List and Mailshots

Feedback from Crit:
  • Overall execution of the design could have been carried out better.
  • Placement of the design on the inside of the leaflet was slightly off and this needs to be addressed.
  • Colour of card perhaps too dark.
  • The red colour was perceived to be brown.

For this design I have increased the opacity of the red from 33% to 75% so it is more bold.  I have chosen a lighter grey colour.  Previously I printed on grey card but if I were to print again, I'd probably print grey ink onto white stock.

Proverbally Yours Mailing List

The design for the mailing list is simple but still shows aspects from the mail shot design - carrying the knife and fork motif.  After going round and looking my classmates work I would like to develop further my mailing list as it is quite a plain design.

Getting There...

The net will be folded in half and the sides will be tacked down so when the recipient receives the mail shot they will have to cut into it along the dashed line to get into it.  I decided to design it like this because it means that it sticks to the size 11 x 16 cm in the beginning and it also gets the person involved in the mail shot which hopefully makes it more interesting to them.  Also the design is just black and red and will be printed onto grey card.
Here I have just been refining my design and adding more information.  I think the layout of the bottom right semi-circle is starting to look slightly more professional but still needs work.

Progress..

This is the net for my final design idea.  It will be targeted at waitresses and restaurant owners to help them become aware of how many people actually run away from paying for food each year.  I'm thinking about putting a link to the website on it, on which I found my information. http://blog.lawinfo.com/2011/02/09/dine-and-dash-–-who-really-pays-and-what-can-a-restaurant-do/

Proverbally Yours

The Basic Idea for the mail shot I'm designing is a guide that will be sent out to waitresses to understand and be able to tell the signs of when a customer is going to "Dine and Dash" or "Go Dutsch."  Basically find a way of getting out of paying for the meal.  Here's a simple template I've came up with for the design of the mail shot.  It's a waitresses cloche and will fold out and contain information on what to look out for.
