What is a line?// Paper & Envelopes

The envelopes will fold so they're square at the front, with a cardboard box fold at the back and can be secured with the stickers provided.

The heart-shape letter fold I thought would be a nice idea for young girls to try out.  It is easy to do and I've asked some peers if they can understand the info graphic below and they agreed.

The headed paper.  I decided to have them in a variety of colours to make the letter set more interesting.

What is a line// Letterfolds

The images below are of my experiments with folding a-format paper into more interesting shapes than just in half.  I found a few diagrams of how to fold these shapes and intend to re-design them so they are more legible and so that they will fit in with my letter-set design as I think this will add an interesting extra to the collection.

This fold can also clip/hang onto things:

Apparently this fold represents the friendship
between two people:

What is a line? Image Development.

Experimenting for the first time with half-tone filter on photoshop (easy peasy) after seeing some really nice examples of half-tone prints in the screen print workshop.  I would quite like to try a four colour separation also.

Presentation - What is a line?

I took 'presentation' a bit too literally and made a powerpoint presentation.  So I just screen shotted the slides as it is still all relevant.

What is a Line?

ILLUSTRATION//CAKE//PUBLICATION

  • Consortina Book
  • Recipe Book
  • Notebook with faint illustration in background with cool front cover and matching pen/ pencil.
  • Letter Set with headed paper, envelope, packaging and a matching pencil.
I think the idea that would work best would be the letter set.  The overall workload could be expanded by designing four different headed papers:  Christmas Cakes, Easter Cakes, Valentines and Birthday Cakes.

Here are a few designs that are already out there:

I think that it is important that the letter set I'm designing is aesthetically pleasing, eye-catching to shoppers but also minimal enough for it to stretch to a wider target audience and function properly as paper for actually writing on.
