Level 05 - OUGD504, Product & Packaging, Branding & Identity

We were asked to bring in 5 examples of Product & Packaging and 5 examples of Branding & Identity and in our groups were asked to divide our examples up into high quality to low quality, taking into consideration sustainability, durability, the net, stock, print quality, the design, choice of colour, techniques used such as laser-cutting and foiling.

Top Quality:  Nice Feeling, Stock, Sustainability, Looks expensive, Durability, Net Complexity

Middle Quality:  Disposability, Design doesn't match, Familiarity can affect the way we consider the design of a package

Low Quality:  Overcrowding, Mass Produced, Poor Quality Images, Attempting Mimicry, Packaging that isn't needed, Mundane

Contextual:  Colour

The examples below are more high end designs as they feature more expensive looking/ heavy stock, some have foiled elements also.  They are also quite minimal designs which make them easier on the eye.

Below are our more low end designs.  They are all quite busy designs with bright colours and inexpensive stocks used.
