Production for Print and Web Software Workshop

CMYK - Process Colours, ink's used in commercial print process.

How to create your own swatches in the swatch palette.  Delete all to begin with.  When you create a new swatch it will be there ready to use in all documents opened.

Small list view to show percentages of CMYK of every colour and add all the colours you've used so far to the swatch panel via the drop down menu.

If coloured square has a white triangle in the right hand corner it means that the colour is 'Global' this means that you can change all lines/shapes etc of this colour on the artboard even if the shape is not selected.  If you set up some tints from the master/100% colour and add them to the swatch list.  Click on the 100% colour, click preview and edit the CMYK percentages to change the colours of all shapes from the same master colour.

Spot Colour

Spot Colour in commercial printing is printed with just one colour ink.  Working with commercial printers, you should use pantone reference to ensure the colour is correct.
